Learn NZSL: e-learning resource
You can now also learn NZSL online, through Learn NZSL - a free e- learning portal developed by Victoria University's Deaf Studies Research Unit in partnership with Kineo.
Through Learn NZSL, you can watch, learn and practise how to use NZSL in common situations. You can study nine different topics. Each topic has videos, resources and exercises
Where can I learn NZSL?
The best way to start is to take an NZSL course with a qualified Deaf teacher. Credit-bearing courses are offered at Victoria University of Wellington and Auckland University of Technology.
Many non-credit courses are offered by local community education providers. These can be located by visiting the website of the NZSL Teachers Association or by contacting your nearest office of Deaf Aotearoa NZ.
Practise your comprehension skills with this series of interactive exercises developed by Victoria University of Wellington for NZSL students.
Learner activities will be updated from time to time – check back often.
